John Christian Plummer has directed over a dozen Shakespeare productions as well as plays by Moliere, Chekhov, Sam Shepard, Carlo Gozzi, and his own original pieces Moliere’s Shorts and Nights of Carnival. John has worked with Berkeley Rep, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Yale Rep, the Idaho Shakespeare Festival and other regional and international theatres including the Actors Shakespeare Company, which he co-founded and ran for 7 years. His play We Have Brought Nightmare was a winner of the True North River Plays Festival, and his play Bastard Nation was produced by the Dynamo Theatre Lab at Vassar College this winter. He writes for film, TV and the internet; he and his partner Jim Biederman wrote the screenplay Knowing Me, Knowing You for the Academy Award-winning producer Wendy Finerman (Forrest Gump, The Devil Wears Prada). John lives with his family in Cold Spring.
