The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival Artists-in-Residence Program offers a unique, dynamic opportunity for students to learn from theater professionals in your classroom.

Students will explore the social and historical contexts for Shakespeare’s plays in a learning environment similar to that of a professional rehearsal process. The program develops team-working skills and creative decision-making, as students focus on in-depth text analysis, character and plot development.

Residencies may be booked throughout the school year depending on staff availability, and include a 5, 10 or 16 session format.

Prices vary depending on program design. New York State schools may apply for BOCES Arts in Education funding.

"We consider you our Hudson Valley ‘treasure’—your ability to bring the text alive and to generate student enthusiasm and energy is an invaluable learning tool for those of us who want to see Shakespeare accessible and appreciated by our young!"

Diane Travis, Lakeland High School
